Easy Thanksgiving Turkey

The tastiest turkey with the least amount of effort.  Unless you are trying to make a beautiful presentation, I highly recommend roasting it upside down in an oven bag.  This makes all the juices run into the white meat, keeping it so juicy and tender that you won’t even need gravy!

One turkey, thawed

2 tbsps minced garlic

1 tbsp herbs de provence

¼ cup olive oil

Salt to taste

Mix herbs, oil, and garlic.  Rub all over turkey, pushing marinade under the skin and in the cavity.  Place turkey in oven bag and roast according to directions on the box.

Turkey in a bag is incredibly forgiving.  A general rule of thumb is roast at 325 degrees, 15-20 minutes for every pound of turkey or until a thermometer inserted into the thigh and breast reaches 175 and the legs separate easily.  Be sure to let the meat stand for 15 minutes after pulling it out of the oven.
