Venison Shepherd’s Pie

A great way to use up leftover mashed potatoes and some of that ground venison!

4-6 cups mashed potatoes
1-2lbs ground venison
3 tbsp tomato paste
1-2 cups beef or chicken broth
1 tsp vinegar
1/2 pkg frozen mixed vegetables, thawed
5-6 mushrooms, sliced
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
1-2 onions, diced
4 tsps minced garlic
2 tsps dijon mustard
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Brown venison. Mix with all ingredients except cheese and potatoes. Layer meat mixture, then potatoes, then cheese in a 9 x 13 pan, or two 9 x 9 pans (freeze one for later). Bake at 350 until heated through and cheese is melted.
